Married to wife Kathy for 41 years, they have a son in the U.S. Air
Force stationed overseas, another son working for the American Cancer Society
in Sacramento, and a daughter, who lives in Murrieta with her husband and their
two sons. Of his 5 grandsons, one graduated from Murrieta Valley High School in 2009 and another is in his junior year.
Rick cares deeply about our community. He is running for re-election to the city
council to continue the work of maintaining our Quality of Life as jobs, medical
infrastructure, and higher educational opportunities are attracted to the area.
His goal is to ensure that current and future residents experience the same great
place to live and raise a family as he and Kathy have enjoyed since arriving in 1999.
As a councilmember for the past five years, he has worked to make sure that the needs
of our citizens guide city goal setting and decisions. Rick has no investment property
in Murrieta, is not obligated to special interests, and believes government’s limited
role is primarily to support the people and ensure that a high level of public safety is
provided. Since his election, Rick has used his characteristic common sense and experience-based
practical approach to revamp the city’s leadership structure, and to lay out a transparent set of
goals. His 2010 re-election will keep government responsive, efficient, and cost conscious.
