Your 2006 vote confirmed you wanted me to maintain our
Quality of Life while bringing jobs to Murrieta. As your Mayor in 2008, confronting a failing
economy in severe recession and a massive foreclosure crisis, we tightened our
belts. Murrieta has made prudent decisions for a successful future: reducing the
size of government, balancing our budget, preserving our 25% emergency reserve fund, maintaining our status as one of the safest cities in the nation, providing foreclosure counseling for those at risk, and creating
new jobs. As your champion for economic growth, here are the results: the Loma Linda University
Medical Center – Murrieta will provide 500 new jobs by early next year; Super Target hired 250;
and BMW will bring 100 jobs with its 2011 opening. The primary task of a council member is to
listen and quickly respond to each individual. I have done that. My goal is to maintain our focus on Quality of Life, job creation, streamlined government, and
opportunities for higher education. I’ve kept my promises to you and will honor my
commitments for our future.
Sincerely,
Rick Gibbs
Murrieta City Council
